*Choose a current event from the news, newspaper, internet, etc that is similar too or exemplifies a topic we are discussing in class. Answer the “W” questions - who, what, when, where, why. Feel free to include pictures, links, quotes, or other items that will make your blog more interesting.

Issues/Struggles - 5
*What issues or struggles are presented as part of the current event? What problems exist? How are people dealing with the event? Why is it noteworthy?

Compare to past – 10
*Explain how your chosen event relates to what we are talking about in class. Use details and examples to justify your choice of current events.

Historical Issues/Struggles - 5
*What issues or struggles were faced in the past that we must learn from? What types of people were most affected? Why? How?

Suggestions - 10
*How can we learn from the past to prevent its repetition in the future? How do we learn from the past? Why is it important to learn from the past? What things should we do again or not do again based on what happened historically?

Response to Comments - 5
*You are responsible for thoughtfully responding to any and all comments left on your blog post. Answer any questions to the best of your ability and respond to those who may challenge your conclusions.

*Be sure to cite all sources used in preparing your blog post.
